The Name
Gold Bug Photography was inspired by The Gold-Bug, a short story by my favorite writer, Edgar Allan Poe. Often referred to as, "Poe’s Hidden Gem" by literary critics, the story stands apart from his more famous, dark and macabre works like, The Raven and The Tell-Tale Heart. Instead, The Gold-Bug explores themes of perseverance through adversity, transformation, redemption, and the power of knowledge and intellect—ideas that deeply resonate with my own journey though life. Inspired by these themes, Gold Bug Photography was born.
About Me
I’m 43 years old and was born in Macon, GA. I grew up in Florida and have called Atlanta home for the last 20 years. I began my photography journey capturing live concerts and was always the one among my college friends to carry a camera, documenting moments as they unfolded. After taking family photos of my niece, nephew, and sister, I discovered a passion for family photography and decided to pursue it professionally. I am a self-taught, seasoned photographer with a decade of experience and my work has been published internationally across four continents.
